Evap Temp Sensor Fixed

Mercedes dealer made the fix after doing their own diags. Although, I pointed them in the right direction. $57 for the part and $214 for labor.. My extended warranty picked up the tab..

the only thing i was disappointed on was that I also told them that my in-dash diags indicated a b1234 error code which from what I am reading is: This sensor detects strong sunlight and increases the fan speed slightly to compensate for solar gain. The sensor is located in the middle of the dash near the windshield. This sensor is not critical. Its failure would not interfere with normal A/C function.

When i got the car home i reran the in-dash diags and now the evap temp sensor indicates 36

however, the error b1234 is still showing up.. based on the error explaination, i ain't gonna sweat it too much. when i bring it in for service 'A' in 6000 miles, i'll mention it.

anyone else have thi b1234 error?

thanks again. I would never had found this sensor if I didn't read it here..

Don't sweat it. If warranty pays, replace it. If it doesn't, I'd personally leave it alone. Out of all the sensors, though, the sun sensor is the easiest to replace. It's the bump in the center of the dash at the base of the windshield.
