It's pretty cool
With mine, you have to release the button once after the doors lock/ unlock, then press and hold and it happens.

Is this only on the cars with RF remotes? My '96 doesn't do it, but it does pop the trunk when you double click it.

Works on my 96. Just have to hold the button after locking the car to close the roof panel and windows. Aim at the sensor under the rear view mirror.

It started with the W124 series, I believe in 1988. Most Germans cars have had it since including VW.

Cheers.

It's a nice feature (available in the Ops Manual) - my buddies BMW 525i has the same feature!

[QUOTE=4XFORE;2181227]I was surprised none of my MB owners friends know about this nice little feature that came with the car.

Our remote key can roll up / roll down all the windows and at the same time can open and close the sunroof.[/QUOT

Yes i knew, cool feature, but you have to be at most 15 feet away for it to work, and they key must be pointing to a sensor on the doors,
that is the only thing stupid about the feature, it does not work from a far distance.

Right, it uses IR instead of RF, so you can't do it from rear side. BMW has this feature a bit better, I can continue putting stuff in trunk, and open roof at the same time.

Now if I could just find the button that cranks this thing up and turns the air or heat on for me it would be even better. Also lexrex you are right about the windows , in the w10 models anyway , if you play with this feature much you may be buying rear window regulators sooner rather than later!

my Vodka drinking sales girl( god,I miss her) showed me the windows up and down feature the day I bought the car in 2001. I have found though, that the older the car gets ,the closer to the car I have to be for it to work. It does work every time, which is good living here in the deep south!

Yup.

My 2001 GTI did it via wireless remote. My 1995 Jetta did it via the key in the door (I didn't have a wireless remote).
