2002 E320 interior Door handle material peeling?

Am I the only one? The material on both of my interior driver and passenger door handles is completely falling off! It appears that MB simply glued it onto the metal bar underneath?

Nate, thanks for the quick reply. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Hey, nice looking car! I noticed you replaced the headlight assembly. Did you do that yourself? How difficult was it? Are you happy with your new headlights?

Thanks. I did replace the headlights myself, however, on your car it will be harder. The 96-99 W210s can take the headlights off VERY easily. However, after the face lift (00-02), I heard you must take off the bumper in order to install?

Here is a better picture of the lights.

2002 E320 4matic 92K (bought 12/20/06). 2000 E430 4matic (RIP 12/9/06) :(
if you don't use mother's preserves protectant or an equivalent vinyl protectant on the interior door handles and dash, you'll certainly see the material start to peel after five years depending on climate, how you treat the interior of the car, etc. my steering wheel, when i bought the ar, had some peel on it and discoloration of the leather, but i still use mother's leather conditioner to ensure it doesn't get worse, and it doesn't look so bad anymore.

It has not happened to mine, but they have been treated with a vinyl preservative from time to time. Please post some photos when you have a chance. Welcome to the forum!

Because I don't feel like spending another $600 on a 10 year old car. Plus, at night, they look like xenon.
