whats the schedule of when they would let us bring the car in for oil changes? Not close to any of the inspections yet tough.

Bring it in on your first 1000 miles to get the oil change. And then start browsing your dreams!

free scheduled maintence...

I thought the first oil & filter change that is covered by the Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Commitment was at 10k miles; any sooner than that is a customer pay…

From the M-B web site:

Thanks to the Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Commitment, routine service on your Model Year 2000 or newer Mercedes-Benz (as listed under A- and B-Service in your Mercedes-Benz Service Booklet) will cost you nothing for the duration of your 4-year or 50,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

When your Flexible Service System indicates it's time for service, take your vehicle to your MB Retail Center, where our expert technicians perform routine services and maintenance checks.

So did I. When I scheduled my 10k mile service the manager said that if I book it too early MB would not cover it. I cancelled a few days before I was due because I was about 2-300 miles short of 10,000 . Dealer agreed that I should rebook it because the computer would detect that car was under 10k miles. Called another local dealer and they said to bring it right in because maileage was so close and they have never had a problem with MB rejecting coverage on such a small difference. It was no problem. All was covered.
Happy 2002,
Nick

Free Scheduled Maintenance

If it is within a few hundred miles of the service, I can see M-B covering the cost. But the second post to the original thread to me seemed to be suggesting that it can be done far earlier and that the cost is covered...
