Cylinder 3 Misfire - Check Engine Light
Dear Forum,
My check engine light came on today, the day after I bought premium gas from a no-name pump (local "chubby's convienance store - ha). My buddy at the service station (old school place) plugged in his hand-held computer and it said, "misfire at cylinder 3" or something to that effect. The local MB repair shop said that B&G product 44K is the only additive that MB recommends, so I bought a can ($23.00!!). I installed the 44K and upon startup, the vapors must have gotten to the injector before the fuel, 'cause the light is now off. Is this weird or what? Anybody have experience with 44K? Is this a recurring problem? Am I making sense?

Glad to hear it seems to be fixed. Just one remark though; you're not posting ANY info on what type of engine, model year etc. so nobody can even make an 'educated guess'...

The following is the only additive MBUSA recommends

BG does have a nice prize catalog for mechanics that have saved up the "tokens" that come in cans of BG products, however.
