spark plug wires

well, its about time for a tune up. so i want to change out all spark plugs. one mb shop says i need to change plugs and wires, while another shop tells me i don't need to change wires, they are still good. my question is, i always thought that you should change the wires when you change the plugs, is this true. my car awaits its tune up, as i await answers from you all. thanks

If your wallets deep why not? It's not going to hurt anything. I think changing them at 50k intervals is sufficient. At 100k a must.

I agree that after 100,000 miles you should change both the plugs and wires.

Cool plug wires

Mercedes and Bmw both have wires that last longer then the car in most cases.Check the impedence ,if in doubt,or if you have ever yanked on them maybe it is worth the change. If you are gentle just change the plugs, and use a torque wrench to tighten em up!

LIST--not necessarily what you'll be charged--for wires at a dealer is $36 each. You'll need 12.

e320 wagon 2001
120,000 miles and I just had plugs and wires changed (2001 E320 4-matic wagon). 150.00 for the wire set, 60.00 for the plugs and four hours labor. That and some new filters (fuel and air) and I was hit for just under $600.00 (local shop).
