2001 E320 RWD - Brilliant Silver/Ash: 100,000+
Only as a basis for comparison, my dealer allowed me a trade-in of $8500 toward their list price of $24,900 on my E320. It had 125,000 miles and a leaking A/C compressor. It was a 1998, had the moonroof, headlight washers, power rear window sunshade, and OEM 6 CD changer. The wheels had curb rash (but there were 5 OEM factory alloys), there were a couple of cracks in the dashboard, stone chips, and a couple of dings on the doors.

Well, you bring up a good point. Are you trading it or are you "selling" them the car? If you are selling it to them they arent far off at $9,500. If you are trading it seek more. Let me explain. They will need to service the car and fix anything that needs to be fixed, pay mechanics, and maybe buy expensive MB parts. Maybe install new Z rated tires. Maybe some minor paint and dent work. Maybe some service items like oil change or brakes pads. They might even need to inspect the car as legally they cant sell a car unless it passes local and state inspection regulations, again pay a mechanic if repairs are needed. Then after all of that is done they have to market the car, newspaper ads, cost of ownership, overhead, radio/TV etc. Then once they have held the car for maybe 180+ days they might need to take another trade-in on it to sell it. Most likely they will have to "over allow" something to the next buyer for his trade to make him happy, you know, someone like us. After all is said and done and they pay a sales commission they might make a small amount. If they are lucky.......... Oh yea, they might even offer a limited warranty which could cost them down the road "after" they sell it.......... So, why do they do it??? I've done it and never really made enough money to make it worth my while so I decided to go fly jets for a living. Now thats a real safe business................
My guess, they might ask in the $12,995 range. That gives them about $3,500 to play with.
How do I know this, I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night!

I've got an E320 that I'm trying to get a price on. It's a 99 with 135k miles. Good shape no cracks in seats or dashboard, newly rebuilt tranny (built even better than when it was first made) everything stock except CD player (still have stock radio). What do you guys think. I really want a new body style 320 but still owe friggin 13k on this one (had bad credit, fresh outta college when i got it okay!).
But now I'm making good money but my credit won't let me buy a second car so I have to trade this one in.

'04 Silverado Z71 - sold all my Benzes and need another!
I think these days the pre-facelift W210's aren't as popular anymore except to us that mod the crap out of them. I love the W210 body myself and willing to pay when something clean and unmolested comes along but I don't know how many more like me are out there. If you really don't need to upgrade to the new body and think you will be upsidedown if you get rid of your car, just start modding it and you'll see that soon it will look, drive and feel like a different car. That worked for me on my previous E420 that was Carlsson'd out and then after I sold it; I missed it so much that I went out and bought a W210 E55. Sorry but this is my little short story about the W210's. Good luck if you guys decide to sell!

Hey- I'm thinking about selling b/c I have 3 cars now and that's 2 cars too many. I'll be leaving AA next yr and I want to move with just 1 car, perhaps a S55 AMG or a CLS55. As an enthusiast I always trade cars
miles:
73,500
Options:

multicontour seats
heated seats
xenon
6cd changer
rear sunshade
2 sets of rims, oem 18" monoblocks and 17" sport wheels

Hi jimmy, forgot to mention she also has integrated phone system & voice recognition. and rear airbags & headlight washers.
KBB says:
Excellent $24,550
Good $23,120
Fair $21,185
For a quick sale to someone here, I'll sell for $20,500 firm If not I'll just keep driving!
