I seem to remember from previous posts but cannot find with a search that there is some sort of resistor between the coil and the spark plug that is best replaced ,i do not have a missfire but at 110,000 miles i would like to replace these anyway if someone has a number or correct part description it would be appreciated,

Visit this site... http://www.mercedesshop.com/default.htm ... or you could call them for part #. I normally change spark plug wires at 75K-100K miles, it's a cheap practice. Can you take pictures step-by-step when you change spark plugs and wires. I have a '96 E320 with 78K miles (had a gasket replacement at 75K miles and they put in new spark plugs at that time. Next time I will change spark plugs myself at 105K miles (30K miles interval?)
