Transmission problems
60k miles. A couple days ago, I was going uphill from a stop on a 50mph road. Could only get up to 20mph! I pulled into a parking lot, went through the menus, and no warning messages. I started the car and drove home fine (about another 5 miles). Today it did it again. This time when I pulled into a parking lot, I put it in reverse and it would not go in reverse, engine just revved like it was in neutral. I shut the car off and let it cool for a bit. Drove it home and it was fine. ?? What's going on?

Hope it is just a software glitch. Like computers, the transmission software sometimes needs a "reboot" via shutting off the car and re-start.
If it occurs consistently, then there might be internal problems.

I also have waring lights for oil. One says oil is too full, and one says oil sensor not working, another says "Stop! Turn off engine!" because oil is too high. I know it's that the sensor is shot (these started right after my A service so I know the stealership messed up my oil sensor). Not sure if they're related. I'm waiting for the car to do it again to see.
Also, when my tranny is screwing up, my tiptronics are gone....I cant downshift or upshift. Yesterday it wouldnt get out of first gear until I pulled over, turned the car off, and it's been fine since. I'm thinking my problem is electronics, but am stumped because I'm not getting any warning messages that pertain to the tranny.

Have it diagnosed by a dealer. I suppose you could try having the transmissions serviced, and at 60,000 miles the one guy is past due. The other guy didn't say how many miles and neither mentioned a previous tranny service. Like loubapache, I hope it is a software issue, and the Star diagnostic system should see the problem(s).

The local dealership here sucks and I dont want to take my car there. Are any of the German car shops good enough to work on these, or do you guys recommend stealership only?

That depends on where you live (not in your profile). There are a couple of "import specialists" here but only one that I know of is owned by a recently trained MB tech (he just left my dealer last week, and I would trust him - has 8 years experience on MB). Personally, with the possible exception of that guy, I only trust the dealer here in my neck of the woods.

Exact same problem on my 2000 320, If i get on an onramp to a highway and give it some gas it wont get out of first gear and i cannot downshift until I pull over and shur the car off. Also, another time is backing out of my driveway then putting it in drive, the tranny hesitates then jolts forward. The tranny is very herky jerky. But yes, same issues so if you find anything please post and I will do the same, Im thinking about heading to the dealer tomorrow.
