i suppose we could compile a huge list of possibles for you, but it becomes
challenging at best. it would be a little easier task if you could be more
descriptive of the symptoms, patterns, sounds, and any other indicators
so that we're not ending up chasing our tails.

Thanks for giving my issue some attention. Here is where I stand: I am having full power, but when i crank the car it is hesitating( want to start but not turning over). (making starting sounds but not going all the way to turn over the engine and run ). Hope i am making sense. ( I haven't driven the car since the first day of the year as i was out of state until the 20th, problem discovered on Sunday 21st)

fuel, air, electricity. do you have all this properly in place?

that's the simplistic view. now the hard part. with the complexity of the
MB automotive system ensuring the proper health and function and how
each of these interrelate with each other requires some experience and
expertise.

work backwards: is fuel being supplied properly? (most of us wont know
right off). is electricity available and of sufficient amount to start the
car (biggest draw on the battery is at start)?

examine health of battery, is a relatively easy first step:
- take voltage reading at rest
- same, but under load
- specific gravity reading (using hydrometer)
- sufficient water level in battery

i'm a little confused by your use of terms "has full power"....yet you follow
with verbiage which implies the cranking effort sounds anemic....and causes
me to think weak battery.

Ditto

on rays post.Having full power i.e. the lights are bright and all the dash lights work is not indicative of a fully charged battery. These are high compression engines?(thus the need for the 1000amp rating on the big ole battery)and they require all of it to start.
Get a charger(10 amp)remove the key from the ignition(never charge it with the key in)hook up the charger (red to the charging post under the hood, black to a good clean ground)and charge it overnight.
It will start in the morning

update

Ok guys. I hook up the battery overnight and it did not start this morning, my fuel is good. could i be having an alternator fault? I had a similar problem back in October last year and the mechanic changed the ,Crank Position Sensor", he said that it was defective. should i jump start it from roadside assistance and see where it leads?

Thanks guys

further update -Resolved

since i was beating my head to have this issue resolved. I am now back on the road. I had a mechanic look at the car and found that the fuel pump was sticking, so he tapped it a few times and "voila". however I have been adviced to replace the fuel pump..

However, I do thank Ray and Ohlord for their input

Wut was the cost to get the crank position sensor changed? Roadside told me that mine is going out.
