Transmission???
Hey guys...haven't posted in a while, but I knew once I started noticing something odd in my car...this was the place to go.
Forgive the explanation, because I think it may confuse some folks...it's just that I'm not really sure how to explain it...sort of a strange thing that is happening.
First off, I have a 1999 E430 with about 111k miles.
So what I notice seems to be some sort of hesitation in the transmission. Like something isn't "catching"?
It seems to happen a bit worse in the first 10-15 minutes I drive it. Below are some ways it reacts:
1. I give it gas from a standing start and it feels like a slight jerk...almost like something caught up with something else (most non-technical explanation ever...haha)
2. Similar situation above seems to happen when I go around a corner and give it gas.
3. If I give it a decent amount of throttle, to maybe pass someone, I've heard it almost rev up...but go nowhere...then it catches. The revving lasts a second...two tops...its a very small window...but noticeable.
The above items are unfortunately intermittent. They don't happen all the time, but part of me feels they may be happening more often. Or that could just be because I'm paranoid now.
I'm literally sweating bullets that it has something to do with the transmission. I would probably have to sell the car from what I've seen some folks spend on the tranny in this forum. I love this car, so hopefully it doesn't get to that.
Hope you guys can help from what crazy explanations I gave above. Oh, and I don't know if this matters but I have had an A service done...tranny oil serviced (at MB mechanic shop) about 3k mile ago. Haven't changed the spark plugs/wires yet...or had a B service since I purchsed the car. I know I'm supposed to change the wires at 100k...I'm planning on doing that asap.
Thanks in advance for the help.
