temp and clock LCD display

Hi,
i just bought a W 210 Kompressor, 2 lt engine.
The outside temp display doesn't show, I can just see one or two bar of one digit, whereas the clock is almost unreadable.

Any hint?

Sounds like your LCD display is going bad...

When you start the car, can you see the display go through its "POST"

you should see the whole clock section light up, as if the system is checking to see if it works.

Are they lit then?

Annoying isn't it. A 50k car that losses it's clock display in 6 years and the *******s won't fix it for under 1200 bucks. God I luv my Benz.

Ohh ya, look for my poll thread on this subject, its a pretty common occurence.

I know and thankfully I have a daily driver so the 55 can sleep in the garage all day long, lol. They shouldn't take that long from what I understand, maybe a couple days?

I've had it done there, in fact I was just there yesterday. Its a great place and my cluster is completely back to normal. They provide a lifetime gurantee. Only cost me 200 as opposed to 1200 at the dealer

clk 430
My W208 CLK 430 is having LCD display repaired next week.
The dash will be sent away for repairs that will take 5 days allowing for post/freight.
Can the car be driven without the dash?
please help quick!

My clock went bad and the dealer told me it was a light bulb...they supposedly replaced it and the clock is glowing nice and bright, now if only the outside temperature display would be a bit more accurate, it'll read 85 degrees when you know it's about 60!

Hey bro, can you keep us updated on this please? I am planning to get this repaired too. It would be nice if you can read the time and temperature

My car was being fixed when I had gotten in an accident so I had time to do it. They screwed mine up too not anything major. I live 25 minutes from the place so i went and they took it out and fixed it while I waited. Now its good as new. 2 weeks without the car just because of the instrument cluster? That's gotta suck.

I was not aware that you had the option to drive in and let them take it out and repair? Was this special for you because you had a problem? I would love to get mine fixed but I don't want the hassle of driving to a garage pulling it out, sending it in and waiting for it to get mailed back and reinstalled.

it was only because I had a problem with it. I originally had to have it sent out.
