It's possible for the lining sensor light not to come on...This will be the case if the sensor was not put in the last time the brake pads were replaced.

Not all W210 have rear brake lining warning sensors.

I thought the lining sensors were integrated into the brake pads, but apparently not. Could someone please explain how those work? Thanks!

I know 4 sure that, whenever I purchase a brake pad for my front OR rear wheels, the stealer parts dept. always ask if I want the sensor. I think it should be a set, and NOT an option to purchase the sensor. Mine is one of the earlier W210s.

Can't say that I have - On the contrary, I do chk my rear brakes between 12k - 15k miles as a preventive measure.

No. I'm referring to the sensor that notifies you of low brake lining.

Are you folks sure that everyone doesn't have this? Maybe it's something that started a particular year. But mine, being a 98, has them.

Same here.

I assume the fronts are the same way? I have yet to replace the front pads.
