Help diagnose front suspension noise

I am hearing a loud metal-on-metal sound coming from the front end of my car. This sound occurs when my front wheels go over any type of bump. This noise repeats quickly (about 3 times), when I go over each bump. I have been hearing this noise for 30,000 miles and still cannot diagnose it.

-The ball joints are not loose
-I just redid my brake system and everything looks fine

I'm sorry about being so vague. But, could anyone give me some ideas on the problem? I was thinking it could be a hidden bushing that is worn out. Any help would be appreciated.

Not completely sure but I had relatively the same issue, mine turned out to be my wheel bearings. About 70 dollars each for the part

Good suggestion. I checked the wheel bearings when I first started hearing the sound. I'll check them again to be sure.

I hear a small noise like that when i go over some sort of bump. I'm curious if its a problem in my case. I haven't experienced any driving issues yet. What should i check to see if its anything is wrong.

easy to diagnose. get a friend to drive the car. find a bump away from traffic to replicate the noise. you stand outside the car while the car is driven over the bump to reproduce the creak. you spray a contact point (keep it off of the brakes!) with WD40 where you think you hear it. repeat until the squeak stops. try bouncing the car at rest also. replace worn parts. spring perches, shock mounts or ball joints are my guess.

I had similar and it turned out to be a worn control arm bushing. Relatively cheap replacement by a good Indie mechanic.
