Anyone had this problem before??

Have 98 E 320...
The right Xenon headlight works on and off. The bulb itself is not a problem because when i put the right xenon bulb in the left one and vice versa, I still had the same problem. When the car is turned on, the xenon light turns on for a second and then turns off. Yesterday morning, the light was working perfectly fine, but a few hours later it wasn't working.
*sigh*
Does anyone have a clue what is causing the bulb to not work sometimes?
Thanks..

OEM HID?

If aftermarket, post manuf to parts. Who and when was it installed?

Drop in HID kit? Has dealer looked at it yet?

p.s. switch ailing bulb to other side. if still flickers or out on original side, then
it's potentially ballast/wiring on original side. if bulb out moved to diff side, then
it's bulb problem.

if problem moves to diff side, swap ballasts and note condition. if it moves to
other side, then it's a ballast problem.

if none of the swaps make a difference, then it's a wiring issue....or....the simple
fact that your car may not have been version coded to acknowledge that HID
was installed. can only be done by dealer, or someone with MB multiplexer
(laptop/software/hardware).

or......read this

I own a 1999 W210 Mercedes.
Hid

well it depends on you HID kit, but it sounds like a bad connection on the plug or maybe the ballast is bad, clean out your connections and make sure the ballast is securely mounted and not flopping around.

Just bought a 1997 e300d and I noticed that the passenger side headlights looked like they're smoked - or at least dusty - compared to the driver's side. I've been noticing this on a lot of other 300's too - anyone know why?
