Hey I lost my original key for my '98 E320 and I was wondering if there was any alternatives to buying it from the dealer? I was quoted $180 to replace the key and that seems a little overpriced. Any ideas as to where I can get a replacement key same as the original without paying so much?

 

not bad, from the dealer as they can be upwards of $250. but the cheapest
we've shared with each other still seems to be from OEMPARTSDIRECT dot com.

note however, that they were (past tense) sold for about $60 but is now stable
at $120. still, a healthy savings below $180.

upon reflection - the above info refers to the Smartkey. i dont know if your 97
MY uses this design.

 

He said he has a '98 so the new chrome key should work. I don't think we can buy an exact duplicate of the original key any longer.
