test drove

i went to a dealership today, and i test drove a Clk55 2001 i took it for a spin, and i liked it a lot, i even got a chance to punch it on the freeway, but mani was not reallu impressed wit the kickdown, like idk, it didn't jump to 5,000 Rpm and take off, highest it went was 3500, i was like wtf? my E420 has one hell of kickdown, i was juss thiknin if the kickdown switch was messsed up, it clicks in, but no fast pull. ? anyone have any idea y? or is the legendary 5.5 liter V8 not wat i tought it was? i hope not, i've seen some of those thigns whoop some A$$ on the road. but it was a nice car. lots heavier than my E420 too, u think that's y?

With an extra quart and a half of AMG muscle, you should feel it. I don't know about the comparison to your 420, but my 430 has great pull on a floored kickdown. The 5.5l is a hot rodded 4.3L, so I would expect to be thrilled when I punched it. G's are g's.

I don't know but if the CLK has to adaptive transmission it may have just been shifting early out of habit.

what makes you think a clk, which is based on the c-class platform, is heavier than your E-class?

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Wink Weight and power

Either the driver was on Quaalude's, as I suspect from most of the funny posts,or the simple laws of physics are no longer in effect in the part of the universe known as the Bay area of ca.,which I don't think is happening from posts by joe55 and gregs210 and others down about that general quadrant.
The CLK55 is about 3500lb the car in question is what 3900lb.
CLK 340horse sled 270h.p.
0-60 4.7 0-60 with a good driver at the wheel 6.7
whole different universe !
"Kirk, out."
Star date -315434.75497843727 accurate to 2 seconds plus or minus

p.s. the sled reference is only in effect in the little known region of the quadrant where such driving feats occur. No inference should be taken by other said models that do not appear to be violating the laws of Quantum and Newtonian physics!

somebody tell me when it's being parted out,no,no, not the front end with the telephone poll indent,I only need some of the undamaged parts from the rear bumper back......

yea

i guess supposed, it is really based on a c class? and also, shouldn't the clk be heavier than my E420 becuz it has a bigger engine, too keep that power on the ground? it needs to be heavier desn' it?, my car has a 275HP 32Valve V8 wit 295Pounds of torque per foot, It wieghs around 3800. (no joke heavy car!) The clk is a 5.5 Liter 24valve V8 wit 345Hp and 376 tq? i think, but it weighs 3600? i thnk? so sumting must have been wrong wit the car then i suppose, wasn't a pull i was thinkin off .. o wello man.

The CLK55 is not heavier than the W210, and no the car does not have to be heavy in order to put the power to the ground, that depends on the type of suspension the vehicle has. Race cars have huge amounts of HP and are extremely light, all on the right suspension. And engines do not necessarily have to be heavier because they are bigger either. But anyway, i guess the CLK was just engineered differently than our W210s.
- Just remember that our cars were meant for luxury and not for racing...
Take care.

Wink Bay area?

The inference was not about the Bay area ,Guys,as noted by the reference to joe55 and greg210,and now eXpLiCitW210 ,the area noted was that little known infinitesimaley small area around one reckless driver,I love the bay area BTW.

GOt a question

This is weird, u know how on the E420 we have the infrared remotes, when u make the light green all the doors and etc. open, and the light red, all the doors lock plus also, u have ignition shutout, for some reason, when i stay in my car, and i lock the doors, when i turn the key to start the car, it starts right up, and all the doors, uunlock, i mean WTF? isn't it supposed to juss not turn over? my cousin's C220 won't start at all even wit the key if the car is locked. is somthing wrong with a fuse? anyone please let me know
