Factory HIDs on E430?

I bought my 2000 E430 about 2 months ago and it didn't come with HIDs. I'm reading the Manual and it states that the bulbs it uses are H7 which to me means that that's the size of the HID bulbs.

Is there a way for me to find out if I have the HID system installed but not in use?

E430 2002
hi, i got an E430 2002 and it uses H7 bulb which is not HID bulb, it just the size called H7, if your car came with oem HID the bulb should be D2R for the low beam and H7 for the high beam

This is not correct.

H7 is a variety of halogen bulb.

There are NO HID bulbs called H7.

If you have headlight washers, you have HID.

If your lights are blue, you have HID.

Why not follow owners manual instructions and remove a bulb and see what it is.

OEM HIDs were available on the 2001 for both the E320 & E430; however, you can purchase a good pair of aftermarket HID kits!

if you're looking for a quality beam which has no diverging or uncontrolled glare,
and precise cutoff, the last thing you want is to go cheap and buy an uncali-
brated HID kit. It's quite easy to tell if you've plugged in an HID kit. I think it
cheapens a quality car and makes it stand out due to the glare it emits.

either go for a retrofit (easy to do for your model) and put in OEM HID projector
into an aftermarket, clear lens headlight assembly..... or go with MB HID (reflec-
tor design)....whichever you find acceptable.
