That's why they call it the Stealership...
2001 E320 4Matic wagon.
I was involved in a collision with a deer. After the body shop was done with it, it needed to go to the dealer for an SRS light reset (bodyshop turned the key with the air bag disconnected) and the contacts on the door switch need to be adjusted/tightened.
No parts involved, just labor: $241.83.
Thanks to everything I have learned on this board, I am able to fix most things myself and do all my own maintenance. With prices like that (did I mention that they had the car overnight to do the above repairs...??), I am so glad I don't go to the dealer for service. Customer service was also extremely poor. Seemed like I was bothering them with my 'old car'.
Here's the best part. I had to tell them that the door switch was the problem(lights wouldn't flash when locking with the remote). Guess where I learned about that...

what do you expect from the dealership, free lapdances and blow jobs? they are a business, and like every other business their goal is to make as much money as possible. if you have a warranty, then go there. if not, there are plenty of good indies who need your business much more than the dealership.

Or better yet "GOT TOOLS" and do it yourself ! IS POSSIBLE,more than just I do it,as seen by several posts by guys that weren't afraid to tackle a problem and fix it.
