I got one a month and a half ago in one of the MB dealers in NY.
In my research I did not encounter any major issues with those cars. The car is awesome. Mine is equiped with heated and multicontured seats which I really really like. This allows you to adjust the firmness of the support anyway you like. This car also has xenon lights, headlamp washers, phone and rear curtain shade (cool gadget). If you're getting it from Mercedes dealer go for a starmarked cars with low milage. Check that everything works on the car but this should go without saying. Warranty pays off also. On my car a month after purchase, sunroof motor failed and made a grinding noise. Warranty repair was done in one day. I was advised that new motor would be $650 but it was covered by the warranty.
Check for complete documentation and service records. Search this forum for problems with 210s. Some owners reported issues with front seats if I remember right.
Otherwise I am not sure what to look out for. Perhaps driving two exapmles of e430 would give you a better feel of what a car should feel like. '
I am really happy with my car and will enjoy it for a few years. I noticed that there are not too many E430s on the Mercedes used lots. Mostly e320s.
