Issue with a E430! Need Help

Hello guys,
I really need some help, while I was in red light waiting the car shut off without any warning. I tried to turn it on again, but no chance. Than somehow after a while the car turned on, I drove for like 10 min to make it home, and again the car shut off, after that the "check engine" light came on. I tried with a jumper to start it, but it didn't seem as a battery problem, the car didnt start again, after trying a trying so many time I managed to drive the car home obviously speeding avoiding to stop on a red light. The next morning when I tried to turn the car on, the car started and the check engine light was off, but the RPM while on "P" gear is very high, it starts from 10 Rpm than it goes to 15 rpm. Some lady on the phone from MB Road Assistance told me could be a "Alternator" or a "Transmission" problem.

Anybody had the same problem? Also I forgot the car vibrates a bit while on "P" gear, I think it vibrated a bit even before this happened.

Thanx
btw this car is a 2001 E430 4 Matic 41k miles

Look like either your MAF or CPS sensor is out of shape

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
The light is out

but the code is stored,if the fault is still present. So get the code read,at autozone for free.Maf bad car will run not stall out and die. Most likely the other option above crank position sensor. It measures crank speed to tell the ecu how to fire the ignition.bad no go,failing go,no go,etc.,get the codes resd first so we can see them when you post.......No sense replaceing the cps although pretty cheap and easy to do,without knowing if that is what is indicated.
