Replacement stereo and keep the wheel remote and the dash readout
Apart from the various ebay Command centres do I have an option if I want to keep the above ?

You may find an aftermarket adapter to let you keep the steering wheel controls. Don't count on finding anything to retain the dash display.
Off the top of my head, there's the PAC SWIX. Look around for other "oem integration adapters" and such. I have no idea which, if any, work with the W210.
I assume you're considering replacing your headunit. If you're interested, I've written instructions for using the stock Bose amp and speakers with any aftermarket unit. It's a reasonably easy install, though it doesn't sound very full. See the threads here and here for more. Good luck.

Congrats on the new ride. Have you ever consider Audio 10 CD? It's an European Option for an indash CD player instead of the tape players we have in the States. I have this for sale. Check my posting.
