Abs/traction Control Display

Recently I have noticed that my ABS and TRACTION are displayed on the dashboard display. This will always come on when I apply the brakes. Right before it displays, I feel a slight bump from the brake pedal. The display will not come on untill brake pedal is depressed.

Any idea what's wrong or what I might do?

Possible ABS fuse out, or ABS control module failure. Not cheap. Run your codes first and see what you have stored.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Nothing

wrong with the abs system, most likely. Not the switch or the module, they are doing their job thats why the light is coming on,the clue is in the bump your feeling.......check the pads and rotors something is biting into the rotor, and triggering the abs.

"GOT CODES?"

A properly functioning ABS system would not cause an ABS message to appear in the cluster, regardless of any caliper travel obstructions. A properly functioning ABS system performs transparently, other than a vibrating brake pedal. ASR (traction control) WILL cause the orange triangle to flicker if ASR is activated. He states that his ABS and ASR warnings are coming on together simultaneously. The bump he is feeling is the ABS module cycling briefly with pedal activation, another clue that the ABS is faulty. Since the ABS is down, ASR cannot function. Hence both ABS and ASR lights appearing together.

Thanks guys, I will have my mechanic take a look at it. I hope it is not because I have not driven the car a lot recently...about a 7 months. I will have my tech check the rotors, and the brake pads as well.....
