I'm surprised by that. The Brembo calipers stick out about 1.5" more then the farthest part (raised area the anti rattle clips rub on) of my stock 430 calipers. They stick out about 2" further then the main body of the stock calipers. I'm assuming that E55 calipers would be bigger, and therefore stick out farther, then my stock E430 calipers. If you really have 2 fingers they might fit. On my Carlsson's 8.5 with ET37 I only have about 1/4". The clearance requirements are on Brembos webpage.

BTW I have another 355 brembo BBK I will be putting up for sale in the near future. It is used calipers but has brand new rotors.

I personally have not done any scientific tests on my setup. Its possible they are no better or maybe even worse (if they lock up quicker and cause the ABS to prematurely engage) But they do feel much better and my butt dyno thinks they stop quicker. The pedal feel is much firmer now and feels more connected to the actual brakes. It may just be an illusion like a sprintbooster and provide more pressure when you are less then 1/2 pedal and at full pedal provide the same braking power as stock. Either way I am happy with the car and it just feels a lot safer. If it even saves me 5 feet from 60 that could be a huge difference. Last year I hit a rabbit and cracked the front bumper, foglight, and plastic underbelly pan. If I'd have had 5 feet more stopping power I would have never hit him.

no offense, but are you sure it's a rabbit? Could it be a racoon or skunk I can't imagine a rabbit cracked a bumper, foglight, and the underbelly pan like you mentioned.. If so, that must be a BIG rabbit or you meant the VW Golf rabbit....lol

Maybe I should have said hare. It was in Wyoming. It was the biggest rabbit I have ever seen (big as a raccoon) and I was doing around 90 when he came out from my right. I nailed the brakes and barely caught him on my left front corner doing around 50 or so. He had to weigh at least 20 lbs.
