I am trying to replace my 1997 instrument cluster with one from 1998.

They physically looks of instrument cluster is same.

1997 Engine 119 verses 1998 E-320 Engine 112, Is this make IC different.

1997 E-420 IC P/N 210 540 25 48 with VDO 110.008.763/021

1998 E-320 IC P/N 210 540 94 47 with VDO 110.008.827/025

Any one have any idea if this will work?

Do you have WIS wiring to compare the pinout
Thanks for your reply. I was just want to make sure if WIS drawing show any difference in wiring for 1997 IC verses 1998 IC.

I have been in Bahrain only once, much more moderate then Saudi. I have been in Qatar Doha too many times.

Do you know what happen to all those Black W211 Mercedes bought by Qatari government for Asian games? I wanted to buy one and bring it to US, but California emission laws make it illegal. I heard from friend Asian games 2007 W211 with only 2000 km went for US$10-15.

no probs dude ur more than welcome to come again but I don't think I'll be in the benz anymore

You know I have no idea but most probably they're rentals or govt official cars. And about those W211s they're mostly 2.4 V6 engines so not worth it at all

Altho I haven't been to Qatar if I do get the chance to go there I'll check out the car market over there, mind you Qatar may be bigger than Bahrain but the country is soo goddamn boring and dull, no wonder the local guys come over to Bahrain just to get laid by the local girls

Answer is NO.
I found the WIS wiring for 1997 and 1998 IC and they are different.

I also talked to my parts guy at MB and according to him 1998 IC will not work on 1997 W210.
