Sunroof
Does anyone's sunroof make noise when going over bumps as if it were loose and jumping up and down?
The dealer says it's the seals and wants to charge me $500.00 to fix it.
Any insight??????

Before I
retired,we owned a large food manufacturing company.The joke always was "that new piece of machinery is going to cost $100000."
So if you are going to the dealer to fix a sun roof you have to figure the price of admission is going to be "that will be $500",unless it's a mass air sensor and that will be "$880 please"
Check the rails and cables,observe what is moving around,compare it to another one of the same year,and see what is loose.Must be a member around you or a friend that has one.
You do not need the dealer,N.J. you have a ton of good indie shops.i.e.

thanks, but it's not the rattling from the suroof screen. the whole glass roof thumps when i go over a bump.

w210 AMG or S213
From inside the car tilt the suroof up all the way. Remove the accordion peices on each side of the sunroof and tighten up the torx screws that hold the glass in place. There are 3 on each side t10 I think.

How do I (correctly, without damaging them) get the accordion pieces off? is there a thread here? photos? sorry to fish around, but the "sunroof" search yields numerous threads and i gave up after about an hour . . . .
