Stock Alternator Power OUtput,

Hey Fellas i have a question, i have a PDX 1000.1 AMp Pushing Two Alpine Type r's let me tell you, it sounds great!! i my amp is pushing 1000RMS i think, and it sounds great since i upgraded my amp these type r's need lots of power, so now when i crank it and enjoy the tunes, my lights really dim a lot, i have a CAP already, but i still experience dimming, anyone know what the output is outta the stock alternator? and how many amps would be good for a new alternator, this i know will def. hurt my electrical sytem in my car, so any help would be great!
thanks

Alt

110 or 115 amp.check serial number as to which model.High amp 150 from a 99 430,but you have to check mounts and if is adaptable to the fickle mb system(fry)........

Is the alpine 1 channel?at 1000 watts, have you matched the speakers ohm rating to the amp?Seems at normal draw your 115 amp alt should be able to drive them and not dim the lights. Are you running all the speakers off one amp?

i'm sorry, i just returned my Alpine amp

and i BOUGHT A JL 1000/1 AMP this amp is also 1000RMS it sounds great too scared to crank though, well ohlord, it's a mono amp, and its an automatic amp, and it sets itself by feeling the speaker's impendance, they are both bridged to 2Ohms but sadly, my lights dim a lot, and my Rpm bounces when the base hits..so i can't crank it, this is really weird, seeing my buddy has 1700 watts running to two 15's and his lights don't dim at all, i'm cluless

C'MON GUYS HELP ME HERE! lol

Ohlord i really appreicate the reply thanks!

Hey Z

Are you running the 1000/1 to just the sub?I have a 1200 jl that is powering a decware deathbox in another car and it has 115 amp alt. and no problems driving it.Good wires?proper gauge?Fuse inline with the battery?Did you do the install? If so you might want to read the white paper on hook ups at

that little deathbox with one 10in custom speaker is killer.

I ask about the fuse in case you did not read the story about the member who had a tire changed and the guy crimped his amp wire, started the car not knowing the wire was bad.shorted out burned up inside the harness all the way under the carpet and fried the harness under the dash
Big wire,proper rated fuse.
tip of the day

whoa

well yea i did the wiring myself, and it's a pretty descent set up, and i might need a new fuse? i have 4 guage wires, all around, and my amp is a 1000RMS and i'n running two 500RMS each sub..and it's peak is 3000..i'm guessing that those subs demand a lot? so the amp is pulling al ot? i mean the amp is turned down all the way too
