Radiator Fan Stays on

I've checked the achieve and found nothing close to my problem....
My radiator fan (also called the auxillary fan) stays on as soon as the engine temperature rise and the fan kicks in, it stays on until I turn the engine off, then it will go off. The fans stays on even though the AC is not on, and the outside temperature is only in the 60's.

could this be the thermostat is defective? is the thermostat telling the fan to kick in, because the engine is HOT.... It seems that my engine is running cooler, but I hate to blow out the motor in the auxilary fan, since its not design to run all the time.

Coolant level is good.

PLEASE HELP!!!

MB, thanks for the update. I'm thinking about changing my thermostat, it stays around 102. I'm thinking that the fan kicks in when the themostat hits 100...
what is the reading on yours?

my temp reading stays at about 80 my car is a 99 e320 what does your cluster reads , mine says engine fan i will try my best to guide you in the right direction but i am not a mechanic and i did not solve my problem but yours might be diffrent. so if you want to try i started out with the temp sensor the one on the engine block cost about 20-30 dollars dont get me wrong i am not saying you have to do this but i started out with that because its cheaper
