front cat replacement help please

All I want to do is relatively cheaply replace my rattley (noisy) front cat on my 00 E430 (v8) with a universal replacement cat that someone has already figured out will fit in this tight space.

Can someone who knows please tell me what part number and what brand of universal cat I can use? One that should not throw my CEL.

hey jim, look at this link from benzworld. g-amg has done a great job explaining how he did it. you might have to register with benzworld in order to see the pictures. also they have a great "diy" section. good luck.

those are the rear cats I want to replace the front cats

hey, thanks for showing me the link. His write-up is on the rear cats, and i want to replace the front cats with universal ones (cheaper).

Can anyone else help me?
