side mirror cover removal
Hi everyone,
As you can tell, I am new to this forum. Recently purchased a 02 4matic wagon for my wife and need some help. I have searched this forum many times and still can't find the right answer. The driver's side blinking mirror is not working. I've searched the forum and seems that the information I found doesn't help in my case. There seems to be no "thin" metal clip inside the mirror housing to release when I push the mirror back towards the doof. Can I please get some pointers before I break something. Thanks

Exactly and shown in the video that ohlord posted is how you need to remove the blinking mirror cover. Just take a flat screwdriver and when the mirror is folded back, pull the thin metal clip back to release the housing. To put the housing back on just slide it all the way back until you hear a "click" and it's all good.

Be careful the cast attachment points for the spring are fragile, try to avoid folding the mirror too many times.

W210 mirror cover removal
I've attached a YouTube video of removing the driver's outside mirror cover, with a tricky hard-to-get-to spring.
