Replacing Pads and Rotors on my '97 E420 for the 1st time

Hello everyone.

I am new here and hoping I could learn a few things about my 97 E420.
I will be replacing the rotors and pads this weekend and wanted to make sure that no special tools are required and that I am not overlooking anything.

I have about 12 years of mechanical experience (on my own cars) but that pertains solely to 5-liter Ford Mustangs. With those cars, you simply remove the calipers, slide off the old pads, press in the caliper piston, slide on the new pads, replace the rotor, bolt the caliper back on, and bleed the brakes starting from the furthest wheel from the master cylinder.

Can anyone offer any tips or information that a first timer should know on a 97 E420? I assume its all the same? Any none-basic hand tools required?

The pads and rotors that I will be using are new OEM.
Thanks!
Luke

The only helpful non basic tool is a 4lb sledge hammer to get the frozen rotors off the car. 2-3 good whacks and the rotor is off.
