1996 E300D
removing a/c compressor

I am going to take out the a/c compressor to put a new clutch on it.
Anyone here done this job before, advice on any tips and tools needed would be greatly appreciated.
The car model is a 1996 E300D.

few questions.Why just the clutch?usually it is something in the compressor that takes out the clutch.
Have you found a supplier of just the clutch?
If you can find one and manage the delicate task of pulling it are you going to rebuild the seals and such on the front of the compressor?
Why not a rebuilt complete unit?

removing a/c compressor

I ran a diagnostic check and got the eror EB1 419 after looking the code up it said the Electronic Compressor Clutch failed.

is

the a/c cooling or does the compressor not turn?Did you clear the error and see if it comes back?
