Brakes Groaning and Grinding
ok, i have a slight problem with my brakes
when my temp. gauge reaches 60 Celsius, my brakes get really weird
when i brake, it sounds like something is dragging on the floor
but this only happens when the gauge gets to 60..
i'm getting my brakes checked out tommorow, so if that is the problem il get it fixed
but is it only because the car is getting hot?
BTW - when the car is cold, sometimes i do wierd vibrations and sometimes the RPM's jerk and than come back down again when i accelerate from a stop, and i only touch the brake pedal. Is it my engine mounts? i did have a CEL earlier but that went away
also, well it stopped now, the transmission gets stuck in 1 gear, so it doesn't shift up or down, but when i turn off the car, and turn it back on, the transmission is fine
When i got that CEL light, the car jerked violently and would shudder if i accelerated
sorry for the long post, im just worried about my car

something is
kicking it into limp mode.Is it running fine now?Is the cel on?where are you located, fill in the side bar.....
Even if the light is out now the code is stored in the pending history.
if you have a harborfreighttools near you you can get the 94169 scanner for about 40 bucks if you ask them to match the internet price, read the obd2 codes and post them.
You decide to hang onto it?![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

the scanner #94169 ask them to match the internet price.Easy to read the codes and post them. Why have a shop charge you to do it when you can get the scanner and use it on all modern cars for 40 bucks? At the very least knowing what is the potential problem will not leave you at a shops mercy.![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)

also, if you don't want to spend $40 on your Mercedes, why are you even asking how to fix it?
