Center dash vent removal?
E320 1999: How does the double-vent unit at the top center of the dash come out? I'm guessing with some gentle prying and persuasion, but I don't to destroy any mounting tabs etc.

Well, I have been
looking for a mounting point for my Garmin base that doesn't require creating visible holes, and I think I can cobble/make/invent something out of thin stock that will bolt back inside the left side of the vent well, and then do a 90 degree bend down 6-8 inches along the left side of the center stack, and out of most direct outside light. I never suction cup it to the w/s, but instead I've been parking it in the ashtray (removed the insert) cubby. But that's not a finished look and it moves around.
BTW I have been reading your posts for months and your knowledge about these fine automobiles is astounding.
FORGOT to thank you for the vid DIY link.

Thanks
we all learn from each others mistakes
raymond gave me that link and I pass it on.
If you mount that gps make sure you remove it every time. people just bust the window and take it if mounted on the dash.

Hopefully sometime soon someone comes up with a fix for that, otherwise we'll leave behind a mess of incomplete works, no better than the half preserved books of ancient times...
