Thoughts CEL and gas cap?
I have been getting my CEL about once a week for 3 weeks, I always go out and unscrew/rescrew gas cap and it clears the next day. I have not hooked up a tool but assume it is gas related. I don't recall this as a "regular" MB problem? Can't be service station because they are all different (in NJ the attendent pumps, not self-serve). Does the cap seal go and maybe lose pressure when tank gets to half full? Any thoughts?

Just saw the other thread on CEL and pressure leak, I'll check the gasket but it clears every time and then comes on again.

If
you are over in allentown go to harborfreight tools and pick up the 94169 scanner and read the codes.Post them.otherwise it's just a guess what is tripping the light.Flip the gasket over in the cap.Make sure you don't top off the tank.Clean your purge valve.
post the codes.

Any reason not to just get it on the internet? Is this one of the better tools? I am not exactly in Allentown Pa, its probably an hour plus change drive.
I will try your trick with the gas cap gasket because this is a pain. It just cleared again yesterday simply by rescrewing the cap on.

Dealer
new cap.
or flip the gasket and give it a try.
harborfreight tools is online also and all you really need for the shade tree diy stuff is the very simple 94169 scanner they have.It reads obd2 codes, pending codes and I/M status, plus it clears codes after you solve the issue.
Don't top off when you fill up.
Get the reader,it will pay for itself many times over in the first trip to the dealer it allows you to avoid.
