Side mirror problems!

Hi all,

First post, but reading a lot and you guys have a great community here!

I have a '97 E420, and the side mirrors don't seem to work right. Anyways, if you try to adjust them via the knob, the motor on the mirrors only seem to go down, but not up, or left/right. Meaning, if I move the knob up or left, the mirror points down! I have the same problem on both mirrors. Is it the switch that went bad, or is it the motor in the mirrors? If it indeed is the switch, I hear you need to order the whole console. Is there any way I can confirm or if you know somewhere to buy a used switch.

Thanks in Advance!

Oh, almost forgot, one of the bulbs seems to have burned out on the gauge cluster - actually, it seems to go on and off intermittently, is this something easy to fix? I read that the cluster just 'pops' right out, is that right? Where Do I get a replacement bulb?

bulbs at dealer or autohausaz.com
not familiar with the 420 mirror setup but if like this, check the wires.

If if is the same for both mirrors then it would look like the switch module needs to be replaced. It is all one unit with the mirror controls and window switches. The module changed in 98 so you will have to find one from a 96 or 97 E-Class or C-Class. I might have a used one if you are interested in buying it cheap to try it out.

Hi E-Klasse,

I would love to buy out the module and give it a check. Please let me know how we can proceed.

Thanks!

it's not clear what isn't working so you'll need to be more specific. the links
in your post aren't related to mirrors. hard to determine how to help
