Automatic Transmission question
I planned on helping my friend service the transmission on his 98 E300 TD.
The problem is that he replaced the radiator and lost some transmission fluid before I could measure it with my Mercedes dipstick.
I planned on measuring the fluid level with the dipstick before draining it and measuring how much fluid was drained out to know how much to put back in.
Since fluid was lost, I don't know where the full mark is now.
How do figure out how much fluid to put back in after draining and changing the filter?

Drain the tq converter and use the mb spec fluid.Autohausaz.com Measure at op temp in specs.
When changing filter never use a rag or anything to wipe down the pan or any internal parts, these trans are very sensitive to lint.
have fun,work safe.

He had the dealer check the fluid level the last it was dealer serviced, so I know the level was correct (no leaks located).
Since my dipstick is extra long, I was just going to measure the level with the car hot and mark on the stick where it stops at the top if the dipstick tube.
