2001 e 320 awd wagon
need driver side outside mirror
Talked to dealer today and they want $600 for a new mirror(only) for a 2001 E 320 wagon. Is there anywhere else to find parts, new or used, that would be cheaper?

Mine was leaking (self dimming) and they replaced under warranty 210 810 13 21, I heard some are replacing with plain glass. This was done on the driveway at the dealership in a few minutes
I looked it up (mirror glass) and it was $588...I cant believe it!

driver side mirror glass
I only need the glass. I looked online and found right side mirror glass for $84 and left side mirror glass for $237. I was quoted $544 for the whole assembly.

I got these Aspherical mirrors and they are really great compared to the oem mirrors. I was very pleased with the upgrade and I recommend this to anyone with a broken mirror glass. The driver side will also show objects smaller but that doesn't bother me I actually like it cause i can see more, i have the rear view for judging distance. The great thing about these is that they curve more on the outer end so that you can see your blind spot as well. these were $50 for a L & R pair. They have a slight smoky tint to them that makes them look really pleasent to the eye and great for night time driving.
The one downfall is they are not auto dim. They are heated but the connection uses a different connector so you need to get creative to get the heating working. I didn't bother hooking up the heating wires and I haven't noticed anything bothersome.
You will have to contact the seller and find out if he can find more of those for you.

in august i got my driver side mirror ripped off by a truck. i also went to mb and got the 600 dollar estimate.. i went on ebay and found the whole side mirror for 240 original off of an e320, so i recommend EBAY

I received a new, auto dim, heated, wide angle mirror. I tested the dimming
feature couple of weeks ago and it indeed was still part of the package. I
must have lucked out or something.

yeah, i figured. but I guess what is sticking in my head is the fit to a pre-
face lift car which is what Nightcap has. yours would be more rounded in
profile but the crucial spec is the mount. it may work just fine. i was
pointing out the potential body style issue. not in any way trying to jam
your transaction.

Yup quite understandable,,i took some pics for Night,,and both have MB part #'s clearly labeled 210810 9416 and 9716,left and right.They were abandoned by Steve aka euro boy when he did my whole car.Check these #'s Night.Thanks Ray.

You are right raymond, that was also my thought. I spoke to MB about the part numbers stemags provided and MB does not recognize those numbers for the 1997 E 320. I'll do some more research.

OK Stemags, I got the pix, they look great. I like them a lot. I took off one of mine to compare the attachment parts and it seem like they would fit - for the mechanical part. However, the electrical connectors are different. I have the old twin connectors and yours are the new style. This will not fit and that would cancel the electrical function. Thanks guys.
