1998 E320 Cell Phone

I need to upgrade my analog cellphone to a Bluetooth device. A search of the web revealed several option for 1999 and newer models with the D2B system. My car was built in late MY 1998, how can I tell if it may have this D2B system? If not what are my other options? Thanks

unlikely your 98 model has D2B system, as this was not introduced until 99.

go into trunk. peel back left rear/driver side liner. look for connectivity. yours
should reveal something similar to....

D2b terminator plug looks more like this (orange pair) from 99-02 w210....

Analog Phone Update

If you can, please help out a technology challenged member . . .

I have a 1999 E-430 with the old MB analog cell phone installed in the center armrest.

What exactly has to be replaced in order to use a bluetooth digital cellphone.

Please be as specific as possible

Thanks, in advance, for any help you can offer.

You would need both connectors to install a bluetooth cradle/pse/argos etc, not just the Fiber connector.

Try the Audio and Electronics forum,

Depending on what hardware you currently have StarTac/V60, PSE etc these are the part numbers that you would need:

1Q6820971 PSE
167875856 V60 Bluetooth Puck
1Q6820896 V60 Cradle

You could also go to the argos method, and you would not be required to purchase all this extra hardware. Check out these sites for more information
