Smile How to RESET the FSS display...

According to page 116 of the 2001 E320 Owner’s Manual, the FSS can be reset by bringing up the FSS display and then pressing the reset button (R Button on the instrument cluster) for approximately 2 seconds.

The multifunction display will ask you if you want to reset the service interval and you must press and hold the R Button until you hear an audible sound. This resets the FSS for 10,000 miles, 15,000 km for Canada.

Hope this helps...

This same technique works for W203 C-class cars - or it least it did on my C32.

does the car have to be on ? I tried it and it did not work? Does the FSS have to exceed so you can resest it? Can't you rest it before it reaches that point?

My car is a 98 W210. Yes you can reset it any time you like, before or after it reaches the service interval. P = position (1, 2 or 3)

1. Turn ignition to P2 and then press the Reset button twice within four seconds to get the current FSS display miles listed
2. Turn the ignition key to P1 and then press AND HOLD the reset button while doing 3
3. Turn the ignition to P2 while keeping the reset button pressed in for 10 seconds

On mine it resets to 10,000 miles then, and I think that varies and can be set in the STAR diagnostics thing that dealerships have.

No dude that is position 1 or 2 in the ignition. Surely your car doesn't just have a single ignition key position or autostart function?

Turn ignition to P2 = turn the ignition key to position 2

Reset?

Isn't that "how to" information contained in your owner's manual?

I just did it for the second time in a little over a year, and it was difficult both times.
Even following the directions perfectly, it took several attempts, but I was finally able to get it right.

Keep trying, and I'm sure that there isn't any difference between MY 2000 and the earlier models.

Good luck.
