Staggered rims
is not staggered tires.You change the tires profile on a wider rim,however it is not a stggered set up,i.e. 235's on the front and 285's on the rear,which is the look he is trying to arrive at and would not be wise.

I agree with you Ohlord. I have staggered rims with same size tires on them. But the rear seems a little wider even though the tires are same size.
According to the MBenz OEM tire+rim setup I have seen 4matic with same setup I have. Actually that’s where I got the idea.
(By the way I measured the diameter of both front and rear tires just in case and they are exactly identical)

Thank you for the input. I plan on using the stadard tire set up from ohlord as he has the most experience. I appreciate all the input. Ideally I would set the wagon up as an all terrain like a safari bug. All stock looking with tall tires. Just something different. Too much work and I live in SoCal so i think I'll stick with the 17" set up ohlord recommended.
