Rough Start
I just got a 2000 E320 with around 98K miles on it, and it ran fine with no problems for about the first week or so. Just recently I've been having starting problems. It's not the battery, and the engine cranks, it's just that it takes it a good 5 or 6 seconds of cranking when it's cold to actually fire. After it's warm it starts up fine when you turn it off. What could be causing this? Is there some fix for this? Is it possible that "hard driving" could be causing it?

did you buy it from?
Did you have it inspected?
Have you any check engine light?
Did you scan for codes,incase whoever sold it to you disconnected the check engine light?

where you are you can go to autozone and have them scan codes for free,or if you plan to do your own maint. in the future you can pick up the #94169 scanner at http://www.harborfreight.com/ for $39 they will meet the internet price if you have a store in your town and take in the ad from the web site.Great tool to have for the diy'r.
Check that all your spark plug wires are firmly popped onto the plugs.Check that your air filter is clean

Check back in when you get the results of the scan.

Notice that changing the fuel filter didn't solve the problem like I thought, the return check valve seemes to be in the pump it self.
Try to solve the problem as soon as possible, the last time I tried to start the engine, it didn't crank at all and the intake manifold exploded .. don't know if this is related.
