Blinking Fuel Level Light & Seat Problem

'99 E430, 98K Miles.

wow ... recently having all kinds of issues going on. I feel like everything is happening at once.

Over the week-end 2 new issues developed.

1) Fuel Level indicator on dash started blinking and the light came on as if I was low on fuel ... Yet the tank is half full. Any ideas

2) One of my kids pulled the front passenger seat - back cover off. There are 2 tabs at the top that appear to insert into the top portion of the seat. I took out the screws holding the bottom and removed the entire back cover. I tried to insert the tabs and put the bottom screws back in. But it appears the tabs are bent ... so there is no tension to hold the cover in place. If you attempt to put something in the storage pocket ... the cover simple pulls out of place. Are there any repair ideas or does the back cover need to be replaced ?

Thx for any help and/or suggestions.

Check your manual if you have one, but I think the blinking fuel light means your gas cap is not tight or the gas cap vent is malfunctioning.

Can't help you on number 2.

#2 - I would check with an auto upholstery place. Chances are good that they can just repair/replace the tabs as long as the seatback material is intact.
