Best way to find indy mechanic Van Nuys, CA area

I have a 2001 E320 with 107,000 and out of warranty. I do not do any of my own repairs. I just got a $2,000 estimate from the dealer to
1) A/C doesn't work, EC light won't go off. Replace 2 bad A/C pressure sensors & recover/recharge $916
2) transmmission slight leak -- 2 oil trans connectors and tranny output chaf (sp?) seal leaking. Need to flush and service
3) B service
Total $2,019.
I had two names from my prior post in October 2007 that unfortunately appears to have been deleted.
Please feel free to post here or PM. I think it's time I made the transition to a non-dealership service shop.
-- unless you guys think that's a bad idea.
P.S. I'd like to keep the car at least two more years, maybe three.

Run the climate control diagnostics and i bet those sensors are not bad,you just have a leak that needs to be located and repaired, not a 900 buck job.Drain the tranny and replace the connector another easy job for a good indie shop. You have been putting the dealers kids thru school
it is time to wean yourself from them.ohlord
Very reasonable compared to a dealer.
