1997 E-420 - If I put new head unit, will I lose my 6 CD changer?
I am thinking to put new head unit in my 1997 E-420. The OEM unit is giving me some trouble, specially with election year I like to listen AM channels.
If I buy new head unit and install, can I still use my OEM 6 CD changer in trunk?

head unit was actually built by Alpine, I believe, and had an "M Bus" connection to the 6 disc changer.
As long as the new head unit is compatible, you should be good to go; however, the loss of AM stations may be due to a "diversity amplifier" on the way out [it is located in the left "C pillar"] as opposed to a bad radio.
