Noise in my A/C

After this winter I tried my A/C and to my surprise, nothing!

I checked the on-board diagnostics and it seemed to all be functioning well except it looked like there was no freon.
Well a trip down to the jobber and I picked up a couple of cans of that "do it yourself" refrigerant and viola!
She is alive!!!
But....
Out of the front vents it sounds like a loud hissing noise. It was evident last summer but not this loud...and yes, I didn't pay much attention to it then.

Today is a different story :-)

Anyone have an idea what this could be? Is the freon still too low?

check and make sure all your vents are open. if not make sure nothing is blocking the air from coming out the vents where's the hissing coming from?

Hissing

from the vents is a key indicator of low r134a fill.
You lost so much r134a that it shut down the system, which means you have a leak that is big enough to warrant a complete check of all lines and fittings. If you fill more r134a the hiss will leave you for a bit at least until it leaks out again along with the oil in the system and then your compressor might seize.Find the leak, repair it ,install a new drier and refill the system properly.
