16mm Socket and a ratchet for the Main belt

I Use the HD Gates belts they have cross cuts for better grip as the 55s have belt slipage at upper rpm s

Oh yeah

also remember to look in your manual for the belt path, easy to forget when the belt is off.

in case you don't have the manual.

99,00,

and probably your 02 are all different.my 99 has a bolt with an external torx thru the center
this diy has the tensioner nut below
http://www.mercedesforum.com/m_79569..._1/key_/tm.htm
your location is correct
https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...8&d=1204388366

I think you have the new style so
http://www.mercedesforum.com/upfiles...F7B99A1FCB.jpg
should be the one to follow, since it has the fins as displayed in the
http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...ner%20Assembly
see the nut
and my 99 is not like that.no fins either

PLEASE take a look at the Tensioner ...

The Tensioner has a 16MM Casting off to the side of the tensioner
do NOT use the TORX bolt to loosen the tensioner as the Torx bolt WILL Unscrew..
