Fuel Filter 1999 E430
Folks:
My 1999 E430 has 55K miles and has original Fuel Filter. I have read that these should be replaced every 60K miles. My questions are: where is this located on the vehicle and what is the procedure for replacement?
Thanks for your help.

I own a 1999 W210 Mercedes.
The fuel filter is located by the rear driverside tire, it is covered by a plastic cover or panel. It is held together by two small clamps that can be removed with a screwdriver. It is recommended to de-pressurize the lines but i am not certain where that valve is located so i just had a rag handy to absorb the excess fuel. Should take you about 20 min or less to do. Good luck.

1999 e430 starting problem lack of Fuel??? (when hot)
I just replaced Plugs and wires because I was getting a rought idle and not starting occasionally. Idle is better but the starting issue remains. I wonder if replacing the fuel filter might take care of this. (high miles 230,000) Do you thinkk it may be the fuel Pump? How do I test the fuel pump? I was going to replace the fuel filter first and see if that does the trick. Thanks for your help! My wife is going to get really mad at me if she is stuck some place and the car won't start.

Does it start when cold
and then after driving it you shut it off and it will turn over but not start until it has cooled down for lets say 30 minutes then you try again and it will turn over and start up?
