I heard about that...the more I read the more I learn.
I need to hit on Mark C. for more info ....he mentioned something about having them installing the felt so that it does not scratch up the film when rolling up/down the windows and if a regulator goes out...one would have to redo the tint to that window.

I own a 1999 W210 Mercedes.
I am in San Jose and they is a great place in Santa Clara called Mr.Tint. They do an excellent job and their prices are quite good.
3M tint with lifetime warranty for about $220.
Make sure any place you go to doesnt give you the ****ty tint. I went with a cheap shop the first time and payed the cost. My tint started fading and i started to note scratches after a few times of rolling down my windows.

If I go "light" all the way around and be one consistent color
will it be less of a taget for the CHP?
I sure see alot of people going pretty dark on the front windows...

CHP doesnt care how light the tint is. I aruged with the ticketing officer and agian at the SJ CHP office. Didnt help.
Personally, I like mine better now. White car and dark tint on rear doors and back window and factory tint on front doors. With darker tint on the front doors it was very difficult to see if anyone was in the crosswalk when turning left at night; was especially difficult when there wern't many street lights around.

a place called professional window tinting, he did a few of my cars and my friend's i reccomend him to a lot of people he does excellent, my car is 5% in the back, and 15% in the front.

I have trusted Sidney (owner) and Gerardo with all the cars I've owned. They have done several cars for me and I have NEVER had a problem with the tint. The work is excellent
Gerardo just tinted my alpine white M3 and it looks great! (First he had to remove the horrible metallic tint that the previous owner put on.)

Had mine done 4 yrs ago,,175 all around the dark limo 15 % i think,,no issues as long as he puts on felt guides inside door.Nice n cool in the sun,,u could sleep in the car its so dark

I would like to see the blue tint if anyone can post a picture
of their car. I have heard quite a bit about the blue tint....I believe it comes standard on the Sport and AMG version.
Thanks Venezzia, that shop you mentioned also carries Hupert Optik...must be really good film...it costs twice as much as the standard (Suntek) film.
Anyone has any Hupert Optik installed??? Is it that much better???
