This post made me run into a lot of confusion and debate with shops that sell MB products as it led be into thinking that my rotors are 316 and not 300..
Let me tell you 316mm Rotor would not fuc**** fit into the 1997 w210 e420 , this is a fact now ! Even when you buy brake pads you will not find any brake pads that are sized for 316mm rotors, IT IS 300mm. So far i can safely say that all North American w210s up to 1999 have the 300mm Rotor size. Hope to save you

I just did a full brake job (rotors, pads, fluid) on my 97 E420 two weeks ago. I bought Zimmerman 300mm F and ATE 290mm R from AutohausAZ and they were a perfect fit.
Note: the Sept 1996 Road & Track article claiming 12.4"/11.4" (315mm/290mm) is also incorrect for the fronts.
